  i have lurked for quite some time.

  many of my past thoughts have been funneled through one of your regulars due to my current situation.

  however, my first post illustrates the type of increased activity i expect on this site and similar ones in the near future, as just a few former insiders become disgruntled and get involved.

  when i was 19 i was married, for two years already.

  the elders in our hall went to my husband and told him to monitor what i wear more closely because it was too revealing.

  they told him that a sister in our hall came to the body of elders and complained that before she became a witness she was a lesbian and my revealing clothing made her have immoral thoughts about me and asked the elders to please have me change my wardrobe so her thoughts would stop.

  Confession time ......when I was a hottie teenager my friend and I would sit in the front row center and try on purpose to make this one Elder sweat while he was on stage. Wearing cleavage revealing tops we would take turns bending down to pick up our notebooks , or bible . We made him lose his place a few times .....Wow I feel better getting that off my chest . lol... Oops am I revealing my true nature ?

  so just to sum it up a bit, this girl caught her dad watching porn, told me about it and then talk about ways to get him to stop watching it.

  apparently she never told the elders and apparently he stopped watching porn.

  (((( Dune ))) I know that may have been the hardest thing for you to do , but it was the mature, responsible action to take . The girls are now out of harms way , And now their mother knows ! Maybe the Elders would have reported it who knows , what I do know they would have wasted time doing it, and those girls needed immidiate help . Involving the authorities will also mean the girls will no doubt get help through child services , hopefully help dealing with what they probably have both gone through. Your friend will no doubt need time to process all that has gone on, and she may vent her anger towards you. In time you might be able to help her understand you morally had to do the right thing.

  Over the past 27 years of marriage my hubby and I have had a few sheparding visits .Mostly trying to get us to do more .We always were a good example in the congregation, but my husband never had any desire to reach out and serve as M.S. or elder and this drove them nuts . Two visits that stick out in my mind . First a few years ago at a scheduled visit an elder came alone , he had been stood up by the M.S. that was to accompany him . This Elder had just found out that he had cancer and was very depressed .We ended up hugging him and offering him scriptual encouragement . When he left our kids looked at us , and said that was the strangest sheparding call we've ever received. It was the best one we ever had because we felt so good being able to help him out . The next visit I recall was last year after we had started missing a few book studies . The elder wanted to know why we were discouraged, and if it had anything to do with my past feelings that 1975 hadn't been the end ! WTF I have never believed in that . In fact my mom was one of the few level headed ones that took no stock in a date and she taught us kids to think that way too. So I don't get how he thought that . The older Elder that came with him remembered ones in his hall selling their homes ect. over that date . Even though I explained I never believed in that I am sure it went in one ear and out the other with the younger elder ( he is a true blond if you get my drift ) There just has to be a reason why you miss meetings other than your sick and tired of hypocrisy , being treated like crap , and fed up with favoritism . I hope he comes back some day because now I can add to my list of reasons why I don't attend any meetings !

  Prince The Pioneer

  i just opened the entertainment section of the la daily news and it had a blurb about prince.

  the titled was "prince the pioneer".

  it was actually about him receiving some lifetime acheivement award.

  I can not stand him , never have . Last year while visiting some JW friends they were so excited to share a cd of Prince and his wife singing kingdom melodies I guess it was the latest thing to get passed around the circuit , I wanted to But I endured . They were star struck by it all

  i'm not feeling too good and if it wasn't for my mom threatening to put me on suicide watch, i would be dead by now.

  anyways, i think i might have to get hospitalized soon.

  i'm sorry to all of those who i put through pain.

  Please , Please hang in there (((( ColdColdRain)))) I want your pain to go away for you too , but suicide is not the answer . The possibility exists that your depression and pain are temporary and can be alleviated , then life will feel worth living again . Give it time , don't give up .
